1. I have never done an online ad, how do I get started?
Please email us your photo (s) and ad copy (what you want to say) and we will design your ad for you. We will also send you a proof of the ad before the publish date.

2. Will I see a proof of my ad before it is published?
Yes, we will email you a proof of your ad before the publish date.

3. How long will my ad be published online?
We publish new ads every saturday. Your ad will remain in the ad tunnel for 1 week. A link to the ad also appears on the contents page for one month. After the one-month run on the contents page, the link is displayed in the advertising archive page in the year the ad was published. Every ad that has been published on Shelties Online since 2004 is still conveniently archived. Please visit the current ad archive here. Past archives can also be found on the page as well.

4. Can I design my own ad and is there a discount?
If you prefer to design the ad yourself or to have another designer create the ad, please submit the file as a 72 dpi - jpg. The ad space is 960 pixels wide with a height of 540 pixels. Interior ads are just $35 sent designed.

5. What is the difference between a lead ad and a interior ad?

New display advertising is arranged in a tunnel with the homepage of the site serving as the lead ad. Interior ads are ads that are placed in the fifth ad space or after.

6. How do I request a specific ad placement?
Just email us to inquire about a specific publish date. We conveniently publish new ads every Saturday of the month. Ad reservations for any specific ad placement must be paid in full at the time of reservation. There is a 1/2 non-refundable fee if you cancel your reservation.

7. Do I have to make a reservation?
No, a reservation is not required for interior ad placement.

9. Is there a deadline for receiving ads? Web ready ads are due at Noon on Friday East Coast time, prior to the publish date of your choice. If you need the team at sheltiesonline to design your ad, please email us at

10. How much does it cost to advertise?
Lead Ad -- $100 (Paid in full at the time of reservation) page 1

Preferred requested ad space -- $75 (Paid in full at the time of reservation) pages 2-4

Interior Ad -- $50

First photo -- free, $10 for each additional photo

Pedigree -- $10

On-site links to pedigrees or other SOL content -- $10 each

Email links -- Free

External links in exchange for a link back to (link to either the contents page or to the advertiser's ad)

11. How do I pay for my ad?

NORTH DAKOTA – Dynestar Shelties is proud to announce a new litter sired by GCHB Kell Happy AOM, out of GCH Dynestar Whispering Bi Malaia. The breeding produced two puppies, one tri-color male and one tri-color female, whelped April 3, 2018.

ARIZONA – Wildwest Shelties is proud to announce three, yes three, litters born over the last month. Born March 5 to Shazadar’s Wildwest Made You Look (AKC ptd) and Ch Wildwest A Distant Shimmer were one bi blue male, one bi black male, and one blue CHW. On March 27, we had four more puppies, all bi-blacks. The two males and two females were born to Wildwest Blue Moon o’Shelgrande AKC Ptd) and out of Blue Heavens the Last Rose. The third litter was born April 4 to Ch Kismet’s Cadeneaux Silver Lining out of Widwest Aria: three bi-blue males and one bi-black female. These litters are futurity nominated.

CALIFORNIA – Show Biz Shelties is proud to announce a new litter sired by visiting stud dog, Am/Can CH. Tresta Uptown Charm ("Gaston"), out of Show Biz Tea Party. The breeding produced five puppies, including two males and three females, whelped February 12.
