Shoreline SSC, SSC of Houston (Sat & Sun)
It was a three-peat in Houston for CH Kismet's Silver Chalice O'Paray as he was awarded Best of Breed by judges Tomas Gomez, Barbara Kenealy and Glenda Henson. This blue merle male is sired by CH Stonerhave Samurai out of CH Grandgables Showcased at Paray. He was bred by Tray Pittman, Paul Flores and his owners, Guy and Thelma Mauldin. Show closings
There are ten shows closing on Wednesday, January 27, Central Indiana Shetland Sheepdog Club (view ad) plays host Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Friday's judges are Joyce Van Kirk (Breed) and Jamie Hubbard (Sweeps). Saturday's judges are Dianne Hawes (Breed) and Lori Wilson (Sweeps). The shows will be held in conjunction with the Indy Winter Classic.
Four shows will take place at the Dude Ranch Pet Resort in Glen Allen, Virginia, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, February 12 - 14. Friday's show is hosted by Shetland Sheepdog Club of Tidewater with judges Thomas Coen (Breed, Jr. Show) and Billie (Kneale) Kellogg (Sweeps). Two shows take place on Saturday. Central Virginia Shetland Sheepdog Club (view ad) plays host for one of those shows with judge Ellen Worthington (Breed, Jr. Show). SSC of Tidewater returns as the host of the other Saturday show with judge Nioma Coen (Breed, Jr. Show). Both Saturday shows have an entry limit of 100. Central Virginia SSC resumes hosting duties on Sunday with judges Rick Thompson (Breed, Jr. Show) and Patti Jackson (Sweeps).
Canyon RV Park in Anaheim, California, is the showsite for the Santiago Shetland Sheepdog Club specialties on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13 and 14. Saturday's judges are Dr. H. Kellogg (Breed, Jr. Show) and Hector Hector (Sweeps). Sunday's judges are Katie Gammill (Breed, Jr. Show) and Meredith Hector (Sweeps).
Also taking place on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 13 and 14, are the Alamo Area Shetland Sheepdog Club specialties at Guadalupe County Fair Association in Seguin, Texas. Saturday's judges are Brenda Miramon (Breed), Sue Adolph (Sweeps) and P.N. Gannon (Obedience). Sunday's judges are Joe Molloy (Breed), Paula Hoover (Sweeps) and F.D. Harding (Obedience).

Trinity Valley Shetland Sheepdog
The year started off in Texas with two specialties on Friday. At the first specialty, judge Jo Virden chose CH Weststar's Garden Party as her Best of Breed. This sable and white bitch is sired by CH Tara Hill Double Play out of Weststar's Madison Avenue. She was bred by and is owned by Denise Hines and Kathleen Schmutz.
At the evenign specialty, judge Gloria Cronin chose CH Worthington's Silver Star as her Best of Breed. This blue dog is sired by CH Thunderhill War Emblem out of CH Worthington's Silver Lace. The new year has begun and along with that the specialties. Yesterday, judge Debra Nordby chose CH Dynestar Ruby Heart Revival as her Best of Breed.
